Printing

You may have an issue within your system.

     Even when all of your other programs print,
     it is possible that any one of them at any time may not print, or may print improperly.


Reminder

     Click the program's (Print) button (Yellow Menu Bar).

     We have disabled the computer's gray drop-down menu for use with our software.


First -- You may be experiencing a temporary hiccup with your system.
    If you have not already done so,
    close all open programs and try re-starting the computer.
         This can clear up a surprising number of issues.

The following are typical questions / issues which can arise.

How do I change printers?

I get a "Save As" message.

Printer Not Installed when opening the program, or Other printer error messages.

Some of the text I entered in the red-bordered field is not printing.

Nothing Prints or prints with little or no text.

Only one line item is printing.

The printed form is not aligned correctly when printing.

My printer is printing random "gibberish" characters.

Some of the form's text or framework is not printing.

How do I change printers?

The program usually automatically finds the New / Selected printer.

Note:    If the program does not connect to the new printer

Solution

Try the following:

Set the default printer (Re-selecting the current / new printer).

    Click on the (Print Options) or (Options) button. (Yellow Menu Bar)
         In the Options layout, select Full Print Dialogs.
         Click on Return To Form.
    Click on the (Print) button. (Yellow Menu Bar)
         Choose to print a form.
         You will see a series of print dialog boxes,
         one of which lets you set the default printer.
    Select the correct Printer Name and continue printing.
         Be sure you are selecting the correct Printer Name.
         Even if the correct Printer Name shows,
         Click the Printer Name.
         Make NO other changes,
         just select the name of the printer you are connected to.

Note:

Once printing occurs correctly, you may wish to return to
the Print Options or Options layout and switch back to Simple Print Dialogs.

I get a "Save As" message.

Re-selecting the current printer will usually correct this.

    The program normally automatically finds your printer.

Some of the text I entered in the red-bordered field is not printing.

Only the entered text that can be seen on screen will print. Any further text will not print, including text entered by "stretching" the field area. The field dimensions cannot be changed to permit additional printed text.

Nothing Prints or prints with little or no text.

Please review the following List of Solutions, as needed:

    Turn your printer off, wait for a minute, then re-start your printer.
         You may be experiencing a temporary hiccup.
    Check the connection(s) to the printer
         Verify the connections.
    Check your Printer's Paper Tray
         Verify that your paper is properly aligned in the tray.
    Printers Folder
    Find and open your Printers Folder
         Go to your Computer's Start Menu -> (Control Panel) Devices and Printers
         Double-click your Printer icon.
         Check your printer for Status of unprinted documents.
               Cancel any unprinted documents
               May have insufficent printer memory (Memory Full).
         Check your printer's ink levels.
               When ink levels are low, some printers occasionally may not print or will print blank.
               (Yes, this is correct, both black and color inks)
         Clean the printer
               Perform a nozzle check
         Change the Print Driver version
               Verify the printer model / version
               (May be connecting to an old driver)
               Look in your Printer's Folder.
               (If only 1 driver is there, re-select it.)

It is possible that the program is not connecting to the printer.
     Typically, this is automatically done by the program.

Only one line item is printing.

Since each line item is considered a record, you must select "Records being Browsed" from the Print dialog box. Doing this will communicate with your printer to print all line items and will not print any other forms. Do not select "Current Record". We have programmed the correct print selections to show up as default, so making changes will probably be unnecessary.

The printed form is not aligned correctly when printing.

  • First, try adjusting your printer's paper feed manually.
  • If this does not help, you can adjust the page margins from your printer's Page Setup dialog box.
  • You can also re-install and / or update your printer driver software. View free download list.

My printer is printing random "gibberish" characters.

This is almost always caused by insufficient printer memory or other temporary printer glitches. This is not a permanent problem. Here are our advised steps:

  1. Switch the printer off.
  2. Cancel all print jobs on your computer.
  3. Switch the printer back on.

If this does not fix the problem, reboot the computer as well. If the problem reoccurs in the future, consider printing fewer pages or submitting fewer print jobs at the same time.

Some of the form's text or framework is not printing.

Here are some solutions that should help resolve this issue:

  • Check your printer's ink levels.
  • Turn your printer off, wait for a minute, then restart your printer.
  • Exit any running program(s) and restart your computer.
  • You should re-install and / or update your printer driver software. View free download list.

During the software's trial period, "watermark" text ("Demo", etc) will appear and may cover or sometimes "blank out" some of the form's content when the form is printed. This is normal and will go away after an unlock code is purchased.

Printer Drivers

The most common source of printing errors is outdated or corrupted printer drivers (software). Your computer communicates with a particular peripheral (printer, modem, scanner, etc.) by means of a piece of software called a driver. Printer manufacturers periodically update the driver software so that the printer can effectively communicate with various software packages and to issue fixes for bugs in their software.

Occasionally, the contents of the printer info, or the printer driver itself,
can become corrupted, leading to printing problems.

Re-installing from your original disk or obtaining and installing the latest drivers from the manufacturer's web site will often correct printing problems and improve performance, as well as replacing any corrupted drivers.

After downloading and installing, be sure to restart your computer so the changes take effect.
